Overheard between Ella & Cookie Monster:

Ella:

No, Cookie Monster. Don't hit Lamb (stuffed animal). Share book with Lamb. Hands not for hitting. Hands for hugging.

Cookie Monster: No response.

Ella: Cookie Monster, go time-out (as she places Cookie Monster in a time-out). No hitting.

Cookie Monster: No response.

Ella: Okay, Cookie Monster... say: "Sorry, Lamb."

Cookie Monster: No response.

Ella: Say "sorry" Cookie Monster. Lamb waiting.

Cookie Monster: No response.

Ella: Cookie Monster don't talk?

We've overheard many conversations like this with Leah and Jack or some stuffed animal.

I LOVE it! Sounds like she's figured out the rules. :)

We love it! Virginia has conversations like this with anything she thinks is doing things that are "unacceptable." i.e. the shower head (leaking water), blankie (hiding on her), daddy (eating cookie dough). I hope lamb is feeling better now and has accepted cookie monster's silent apology :)

This makes me laugh! She knows her stuff! Adam also has his dinosaurs take time outs when they bite or hit.

Isn't it amazing how much they teach themselves through imaginary play. What magic to be able to watch her develop!
