Our big kindergarten girl braved the wild new world of elementary school last week. It was a tougher than expected transition for her (and us), but after lots of tears and requests to go back to preschool, we think she has finally rounded the corner in week #2 and grown to love her new school, teachers, and friends.

What we certainly didn't expect was for Preston to experience anxiety during this transition process, too. Not only has he cried for Ella in the car each morning, but the first few days of preschool without her, his teachers said that he plastered his face against the window and called for Ella all day long. He kept searching for her on the playground as well, where there would typically play together...

During her tears last week, Ella concluded (in all seriousness): "Mom, I think I am supposed to be in elementary school, because it is ELLAmentary school. Do you think they named it after me?"
